PVC – Polyvinyl Chloride

PVC is the third most widely used plastic raw material in the world after polyethylene and polypropylene.

It is mostly used instead of classical iron and wood in pipes and window profiles in the construction industry.

Reasons for preference; easy workability, water resistance, fire and flame resistance, recyclability, cost advantage, lightness, longevity, easy repairability, flexibility, transparency and durability.

It is basically divided into two groups:

Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) is obtained by polymerization of vinyl chloride monomer (VCM).

PVC replaces traditional building products such as iron, copper and wood in the building sector (window profile, door, blinds, irrigation and sewage pipes, wall, floor and roof covering materials) due to its cheapness and technical superiority.

Additionally, it is used in many rubber replacement applications, such as electrical cable insulation.
